Statement of Beliefs, Mission and Vision Statement
WE BELIEVE JESUS CHRIST TO BE THE HEAD OF THE LOCAL NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH. [Colossians 1:18] We affirm the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith. The church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of "The Baptist Faith and Message" as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 1963. We band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind. The ordinances of the church are Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
Mission Statement:
We are living in a fallen world, and our mandate and assignment from the Lord is to reach the lost, the left behind, and the left out for Jesus Christ. We are to bring hope to those who have lost hope, and care for those who have hurt and neglected. We are to lead men, women, and children to a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. Our Mission is to obey the Great Commission as recorded in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Vision Statement:
Our vision is to impact the immediate Upper Marlboro area, and Northern and Southern Prince Georges County for the cause of Jesus Christ—leading men, women, and children into a healthy and meaningful relationship with the Lord. It is our vision to create an atmosphere of unity and cooperation amongst the churches, organizations, and denominations in the body of Christ. It is our vision, prayers, and desire to grow into a multicultural, multiracial, multinational congregation meeting the spiritual and physical needs of all of God’s created peoples. It is our vision to meet the needs of the whole individual: physically, emotionally, mentally, financially, and spiritually.
